چکیده
Symbiotic seed germination for conservation and cultivation of orchids holds colossal merit asmycorrhizal fungus in its system improves their growth adaptability. activity ishighly specific some species, but other cases the same from one species is effective aseries related species. The present work describes inter-specific three fungal isolatesfrom seedling root Vanda thwaitesii to support V.wightii, a closely India. Among isolates, two designated as Wyd2 andIdk were identified Ceratobasidium sp through sequencing ITS1 ITS4 regions. Oneisolate Wyd1 did not clad with any described genera, remained an out-groupunder family Ceratobasidiaceae. All isolates possessed binucleate hyphae producingellipsoidal, oval or barrel shaped monilioid cells supported 80–95% germination, transforming 70–85% them into protocorms 30 days duration. seedlingdevelopment starting promeristem formation, first leaf development second leafinitiation occurred 95% time interval 60 compared 90–120 daysthrough asymbiotic method. evaluated are provedeffective V. wightii symbiotic thus useful mycorrhiza assistedconservation.

Distribution of radionuclide in the forest soils (Western Ghats-India)
Background: The presence of radionuclides in the soil, measures need to be taken to minimize the radiation dose to humans. It is mostly gamma-emitting radionuclides that contribute to the radiation dose in long term behavior of these radionuclides in soil may determine the extent to which such countermeasures need to be applied. Materials and Methods: The activity concentration of these radionu...
متن کاملEndemic Asian Chytrid Strain Infection in Threatened and Endemic Anurans of the Northern Western Ghats, India
The Western Ghats of India harbors a rich diversity of amphibians with more than 77% species endemic to this region. At least 42% of the endemic species are threatened due to several anthropogenic stressors. However, information on amphibian diseases and their impacts on amphibian populations in this region are scarce. We report the occurrence of Batrachochytridium dendrobatidis (Bd), an epider...
متن کاملAnalysis of Genetic Diversity in Poeciloneuron pauciflorum Bedd.―An Endemic Tree Species from the Western Ghats of India
Poeciloneuron pauciflorum is a narrow endemic having highly restricted distribution in the southern-western Ghats region of India. 18 accessions of P. pauciflorum collected from four different locations were analyzed for genetic variation using 20 random primers. Out of 141 amplicons generated, 130 of them were polymorphic (92.20% polymorphism). Contrary to the general concept of low genetic va...
متن کاملTotal polyphenolic contents and in vitro antioxidant properties of eight Sida species from Western Ghats, India
BACKGROUND Sida L., is a medicinally important genus, the species of which are widely used in traditional systems of medicine in India. Pharmacologically, roots are known for anti-tumor, anti-HIV, hepatoprotective, and many other properties. Phenolic antioxidants help in reducing oxidative stress occurring during treatment of such diseases. OBJECTIVE The study aimed to evaluate and compare po...
